BIOGRAPHIE
BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1993, Pauline Girard lives and works in Aveyron, France.
Her painting practice explores the narratives, symbols, and forms of transmission that shape our relationship to the world. Rooted in observations of everyday life, her work often takes French idiomatic expressions as a starting point, considering them as traces of collective memory and shared cultural representations.
Through painting, she investigates the images generated by language and what they reveal about our habits, beliefs, and ways of perceiving reality. Popular expressions, transmitted stories, and familiar objects become vehicles for a broader reflection on cultural transmission and the imaginaries that run through our lives.
Balancing figuration and symbolism, her works create open spaces for interpretation, where the ordinary takes on a sensitive and universal dimension.
Painting allows her to give form to mental images, make visible certain collective constructions, and explore the ways in which individuals create meaning from their experiences.
Through this research, Pauline Girard examines the relationships between language, memory, and representation, as well as the narratives that shape our understanding of both the world and ourselves.
